OBERALPPASS

To 2046m a.s.l the Oberalp pass, on the Gotthard group, divides the Glarus Alps from the Lepontine Alps. This pass connects the two regions Uri and Graubünden. Open for most of the year, it is closed during the winter period between Andermatt and Sedrun but shuttle train services are provided for transporting people and cars. This step provides the roads to German and French Switzerland to reach the destination Disentis.

LUKMANIERPASS

It is an ancient pass that was used from the early Middle Ages and provided a passage for pilgrims for the religious itinerary between the Po valley and the Rhine valley. Once it was controlled by the Abbey of Disentis. In 1876 the cantonal road was built, connecting the two cantons Ticino and Graubünden. It is still used throughout the year with time restrictions during the winter period.

CANTONAL ROAD 19

Following the cantonal road 19 which can be followed from exit 18 of the highway 13, you can cross the Surselva region and in about 40km you reach Disentis. This cantonal road is easy to follow and open all year. Even during the majestic snowfalls, very frequent during the winter season, the road is always well taken care of and cleaned by the snow plow service. Cantonal road 19 serves the entire area of eastern Switzerland.

If you don't want to travel by car, but want to enjoy a peaceful and countless Swiss landscapes, you can reach us thanks to an excellent train network with the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) or the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB). Disentis is a stop on the famous Glacier Express, which crosses the Swiss alp, from Zermatt to St. Moritz.
